Who We Are
Pronto 478 is the newest venue from the family behind Shop225 in Pascoe Vale South and Il Caminetto in Moonee Ponds, both of which are widely regarded among Melbourne's finest Italian kitchens.
While our other restaurants are built around unhurried dining, Pronto takes a different approach. In Pronto, the same standards are applied to a faster format. As a result, we operate as a takeaway and delivery kitchen with no dine-in or waiting. Our menu reflects that focus. Alongside Roman-style pizza and hand-rolled pasta, we serve the golden Sicilian and Roman bites found in markets across southern Italy. In short, this is street food prepared to restaurant standards.

Our Story
Pronto 478 was founded on a principle long understood in Rome and Palermo: haste and quality are not opposing forces. Our kitchen begins its work hours before the first order arrives, proving dough, simmering sauces and shaping each component by hand. By the time we open, the most demanding stages are complete, which is precisely why a meal can reach you within minutes and still carry the depth of something far slower. The effort has not been removed. It has simply been undertaken in advance, so that you are never asked to wait for it.
